KATIE HAZARD

Katie Hazard, an Ohio native, started dancing when she was 13 years old. Before her dancing days, she actually started as a competitive gymnast where she ended as a level 9. Later on she decided dance was what she wanted to do full time. She has studied in all forms of dance such as Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, etc. She also was a competitive dancer with her home studio Starmaker Performing Arts Center, where she has won numerous dance awards, from Edge Scholarships to Agency awards. After winning Dancer of The Year & The MSA Agency Award for Hollywood Vibe Dance Convention when she was 16, she was given the opportunity to assist the well-known faculty. She has had the chance to travel, assist and work alongside teachers/choreographers such as Kevin Maher, Allison Holker, Brooke Lipton, Kent Boyd, Tessandra Chavez, Ryan Lohoff, Melissa Sandvig, as well as many more. She continues to assist Hollywood Vibe currently and has had many opportunities to choreograph for their faculty show and be a positive influence on young dancers. 
Katie moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career in 2011 and immediately signed with Go 2 Talent agency. She started working for MusEffect shortly after moving. She has had the opportunity to be a part of DancerPalooza, World Industry Dance Awards, Reebok Industrial, VANS US Surf Open, and the Velocity Pro Show. She has been a principal dancer in the past 3 shows of “The Divine Direction.” Not only does she love the stage, she also loves the camera. Katie has had the opportunity to be in a few Public Service Announcement videos to promote positive outcomes for social issues. PSA’s including “953K, When Hashtag Was Just A Pound Sign, Texting & Driving, Pulse, & Look At Me.” She recently became a part of Rithem Dance Company, a tap company under the direction of Ryan Lohoff, where she gets to tap with LAs best tap dancers. 
Not only does Katie like to be a performer but she has a strong passion for teaching. She has had the chance to travel alongside Jessica Starr to teach and choreograph for several studios around the nation. Katie had a very big passion to teach young dancers when she was younger and to have the opportunity to travel with Jessica Starr and her amazing Muse faculty has been a real treat. Not only has she had the chance to choreograph for dance studios, but she has also choreographed for So You Think You Can Dance, VANS US Surf Open, Club Jeté, and for her fellow MusEffect family.
